Deals of the day: B&M Stores preps IPO

Venture Capital Deals

Brandwatch, a UK-based social media monitoring platform, has raised $22 million in Series B funding. Highland Capital Partners led the round, and was joined by Nauta Capital. www.brandwatch.com 

DoorDash, an on-demand restaurant food delivery platform, has raised $17.3 million in Series A funding. Sequoia Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Khosla Ventures, Charles River Ventures, Pejman Mar Ventures and Ted Zagat. www.doordash.com

Lysogene, a Paris-based gene therapy CNS nervous system involvement, has raised €16.5 million in Series A funding. Sofinnova Partners led the round, and was joined by Bpifrance and NovoAS. www.lysogene.com

Needle Inc., a Bluffdale, Utah-based provider of social chat and video solutions for ecommerce, has raised $7 million in third-round funding, according to a regulatory filing. Existing shareholders include Shasta Ventures and Rembrandt Venture Partners. www.needle.com
 
Dejero, an Ontario-based bonded wireless transmission startup, has raised C$4.5 million in new VC funding from Best Funds. www.dejero.com

Filament Labs, maker of an interactive care plan delivery platform for healthcare professionals, has raised $1 million in seed funding led by Mercury Fund. www.filamentlabs.co

Private Equity Deals

Adveq and HPE Growth Capital have co-invested in Airborne Oil & Gas, a Dutch manufacturer of composite spoolable pipe solutions for the oil and gas market. No financial terms were disclosed. www.airborne-oilandgas.com

Bowmark Capital has acquired Autodata Publishing Group, a UK-based provider of tech information to the automotive aftermarket, at an enterprise value of £143 million. Equity co-investors included The Rothschild Group and Five Arrows Principal Investments. Livingstone Partners managed the process. www.autodata-group.com

The Brickman Group, a Rockville, Md.-based portfolio company of KKR, has agreed to merge withValleyCrest Companies, a Calabasas, Calif.-based portfolio company of MSD Capital, in order to form a combined landscape services company with more than $2 billion in annual revenue. No financial terms were disclosed, except that KKR will have a majority equity stake in the combined company. www.brickmangroup.com

The Carlyle Group and Shinsei Bank Ltd. (Tokyo: 8303) have been short-listed in the auction forStandard Chartered’s Hong Kong consumer finance group, according to Reuters. The deal could be worth between $500 million and $700 million.  

Huron Capital Partners has acquired American Auto Auction Group LLC, a Charleston, S.C.,-based provider of dealer-to-dealer auction services with sites in six states. www.americanautoauctiongroup.com

IPOs

Agile Therapeutics Inc., a Princeton, N.J.-based developer of prescription contraceptive products, raised $55 million in its IPO. The company priced 9.2 million shares at $6 per share, compared to earlier plans to offer 4.62 million shares at between $12 and $14 per share. It has an initial market cap of approximately $111.5 million, and will trade on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol AGRX. RBC Capital Markets and William Blair served as lead underwriters. Shareholders include ProQuest Investments (30.4% pre-IPO stake), Care Capital (26.6%), Investor Growth Capital (26.6%) and Aisling Capital (8.9%). www.agiletherapeutics.com

B&M Stores, a British discount retail chain owned by Clayton Dubilier & Rice, is pepping an IPO resigned to raise £75 million at around a £2.5 billion valuation, according to The FT. www.bmstores.co.uk

Com Hem Holding, a Swedish cable operator owned by BC Partners, is planning to raise approximately $830 million in an IPO in Stockholm, according to Bloomberg. J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Nordea Bank are managing the offering. www.comhem.se

Heritage Insurance Holdings, a Clearwater, Fla.-based property and casualty insurer, raised $66 million in its IPO. The company priced 6 million shares at $11 per share (below $14-$16 range), and will trade on the NYSE under ticker symbol HRTG. www.heritagepci.com 

Parsley Energy, a Midland, Texas-based oil and gas exploration company focused on the Permian Basin, raised $925 million in its IPO. The company priced 50 million shares at $18.50 per share, compared to earlier plans to offer 43.9 million shares at between $15 and $18 per share. It will trade on the NYSE under ticker symbol PE, while Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs served as lead underwriters. www.parsleyenergy.com

M&A

CVS Caremark Corp. (NYSE: CVS) is in talks to acquire Brazilian drugstore chain DPSP, according to the WSJ. The deal could be worth around $2 billion. www.cvs.com

Boeing (NYSE: BA) has agreed to acquire ETS Aviation, a UK–based provider of fuel-efficiency management and analytics software. No financial terms were disclosed. www.boeing.com

F5 Networks (Nasdaq: FFIV) has acquired Defense.net Inc., a Belmont, Calif.–based provider of data centers and Internet applications from DDoS attacks. No financial terms were disclosed. Sellers include Bessemer Venture Partnerswww.defense.net
